About us

What we do

At Tabono Ayiti, we believe that agriculture is more than just farming—it’s about innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment. Our mission is to elevate sweet potatoes as a cornerstone of economic growth, health, and environmental responsibility in Ayiti and beyond.

Sweet potato cultivation in Ayiti uses organic fertilizer and sustainable practices where slips are replanted and weeds become mulch. The country grows about a dozen varieties, the most coveted in TABONO Ayiti’s fields.

Our History

At TABONO Ayiti, we are dedicated to transforming Haiti’s agricultural landscape through the cultivation of nutrient-rich sweet potatoes. Our mission is to empower local farmers with sustainable practices, ensuring food security and economic growth for our communities. By integrating traditional knowledge with innovative techniques, we aim to create a resilient and thriving agricultural sector in Haiti.

Community Empowerment

Tabono” is an Adinkra symbol from West Africa that represents strength, perseverance, confidence, and hard work. It is formed from four paddles used in traditional African canoes — a powerful metaphor for unity in motion, collective effort, and forward progress.

At Tabono Ayiti, we embrace this symbol as a guiding force. Just like the paddles that must move together in rhythm to navigate rivers and seas, we believe that real change in Ayiti (Haiti) requires synchronized action — from farmers, communities, investors, and partners alike.

Why Tabono?

Strength: We are rooted in resilience, drawing from Ayiti’s deep cultural strength and agricultural traditions.
Perseverance: We understand that lasting transformation is not instant—it is cultivated, season by season.
Unity in Motion: Our collective approach brings people together, ensuring no one is left behind in the journey toward sustainability.
Work Ethic: Just as the paddles push forward through effort, we are committed to consistent and intentional work for community advancement.

Tabono is not just our name — it is our philosophy.
It reflects who we are, how we work, and where we’re headed as we build an Ayiti that thrives from the ground up.
